We are pleased to announce the new CHPV Caring Neighbors Google Group, a collaborative project of the Member Services and Member Experience Committees.

CHPV Caring Neighbors is a new member-led email discussion group for those who wish to go above and beyond to support fellow members facing short-term, acute needs that fall outside CHPV’s existing services.
When a neighbor is recovering from surgery, hospitalized, or simply needs an extra hand, Caring Neighbors helps ensure our neighbors-in-need don’t slip through the cracks.

Examples of ways to help include:
  • Baking a casserole for someone who is ill
  • Picking up and delivering medications or meals
  • Visiting someone in the hospital
  • Feeding a cat and collecting mail while a member is away
  • Call or write someone going through a tough time
This group is of, by, and for CHPV members. Staff are here to assist with communication and logistics but cannot fulfill requests outside of CHPV’s existing services.

How to Join the Group:

CHPV Caring Neighbors is limited to CHPV members. If you are a member and have a Google/Gmail account, sign in with that account at https://groups.google.com/a/chpv.org/g/care/about and click “Ask to join group.” Alternatively, send an email to info@chpv.org asking to join CHPV Caring Neighbors.

Are you a CHPV member in need of assistance?
Contact us at service@chpv.org or call (773) 363-1933.

CHPV Caring Neighbors is not a forum for coordinating CHPV's existing services (such as rides, check-in calls, Village Visitor, or medical companions). Learn more about our existing services at https://chpv.org/services.

SCAM ALERT!
A CHPV community member was recently targeted by an imposter claiming to be a Cook County Sheriff's Office employee. He didn't fall for it. Would you? Learn more about this scam on the Cook County Sheriff's Office website.
