The University of Chicago Service League and Chicago Hyde Park Village monthly movie group returns with
Ship of Fools, the 1965 Stanley Kramer film which won 2 Oscars and stars Vivien Leigh, Simone Signoret, Jose Ferrer, Lee Marvin and others.
Suggestions: Enjoy lunch (with friends) before the film at the Art Center's Almendro Cafe, offering many yummy Mexican-themed delights or meet there afterwards for a snack and informal film discussion.
Some participants have complained that the HPAC chairs are hard so you may want to bring a cushion. We will also have a few available.
1:15 - 1:30 — Arrive and enjoy light refreshments while settling into your seat.
1:30 - 1:45 — Short introduction to film
1:45 - 3:30 — Screening begins
Film:
Ship of Fools
1965, 2h 29m
Light refreshments will be provided.
Our sincere thanks to the Hyde Park Art Center for generously providing the space for this series. Many of the films we screen are graciously provided from the library of CHPV member Caecilia Hubbard.
This program is free of charge. The HP Arts Center is happy to host rent-free. We will, however, put out a pot for free-will donations to cover light refreshments and an occasional film rental. We welcome suggestions for future films. See you at the movies!
