This event features Hyde Park resident Eric Charles May, author of Bedrock Faith, the 2021 Chicago Public Library One Book One Chicago selection.<br /><br />Bedrock Faith follows the life of Stew Pot Reeves who returns to his far South-side neighborhood after serving 14 years in prison. Stew Pot’s transformation from a frightening delinquent into the moral judge of his neighbors is explored through his encounters and confrontations in the neighborhood.<br /><br />A former reporter for The Washington Post, May was born and raised in Morgan Park, a Chicago neighborhood that informs the novel.<br /><br />The Hyde Park Book Club is jointly sponsored by the Hyde Park Historical Society and Chicago Hyde Park Village.<br /><br />All are welcome.
