Lucas Livingston has served the Chicagoland community for nearly 20 years in the spheres of lifelong learning, creative aging, cultural administration, arts enrichment, and disability activism. Prior to joining Chicago Hyde Park Village, Lucas directed the Art Institute of Chicago’s therapeutic, health, wellness, and enrichment opportunities for older adult learners and people with disabilities. He is a frequent public speaker and published author in peer-reviewed journals on topics of lifelong learning, creative aging, cultural equity, and accessibility. Inclusive of his commitment to serving the Hyde Park and Chicago older adult communities, Lucas is a steering committee member with the Arts for Brain Health Coalition and Make Room @ The Table and a member of the Chicago Brewseum board of directors. He served on the American Society on Aging’s LEARN Council (Lifetime Education and Renewal Network), was a founding steering committee member with the Chicago Cultural Accessibility Consortium, and a member of the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Illinois Chapter’s Early-Stage Advisory Committee. As a University of Chicago alumnus, Lucas is especially excited about returning to the Hyde Park neighborhood to support CHPV's mission of fostering healthy aging in place.

Dorothy Pytel holds a master’s degree in Public Service Administration from DePaul University and has been involved in grassroots community activism and organizing for the past two decades.

Under her watch, the Brick Yard Community Garden in Woodlawn became a permanent green space (through Neighborspace) and the Hyde Park Refugee Project grew from an idea to a community-wide volunteer effort with 100+ volunteers working with refugees from Syria and the Congo as well as immigrants from all backgrounds in local schools.

At CHPV, Dorothy works to build relationships with local organization such as faith communities and university and community groups. She also manages Village Visitors, a CHPV program to connect older adults to caring volunteers in the neighborhood.
