LEARN MORE AND REGISTER
During this virtual session, we’ll learn about evolving trends and options in body disposition. Learn the key differences between traditional and green cremation and burial, emerging technologies in the death care industry, and innovative approaches like Organic Human Reduction (composting) as well as body donation to science. Whether you’re planning ahead or simply curious, this session offers valuable insights into meaningful, environmentally conscious, and science-supportive choices.
About the Presenter
Brooke Benjamin is a partner at
Inclusive Funeral Care (IFC), a lower-cost alternative to the funeral home system. A Chicago-born Funeral Director and Celebrant with nearly 30 years of experience, her main purpose in life is to be useful to others. She finds people endlessly, boundlessly fascinating. IFC performs burials, funerals, cremations, celebrations of lives, pet services, dispositions, merchandise. Green Options available. IFC ‘s philosophy: beyond disposition of human remains, The Law, and spiritual/religious imperatives, whatever path a family chooses should promote (rather than preclude) healing and preserve an individual’s memory. Some clients don’t give one iota about healing or memory and value efficiency/affordability above all, and that’s fine, too. Different strokes for different folks, and this should not be highway robbery.
What is the Chicago Area Villages Collaborative?
There are eight “Villages” in the Chicago area, all part of the international
Village Movement—grassroots organizations of older adults designed to help people age and thrive in their communities. Each Village reflects its community and leadership. We invite you to contact a Village
in your area to learn more about what we do and how you can join.
