Hello wonderful previous pie bakers,

We are writing to let you know that registration is officially open for the 6th annual South Side Pie Challenge!

This year's event will take place on Saturday, November 4th at the Hyde Park Neighborhood Club. Pie drop-off is from 9:30 to 10:30 and we will open to the public as usual at 2 p.m.

The entry fee is $25 and as in past years you should bake us two identical pies. Our categories remain the same: fruit, nut, cream, and sweet potato/pumpkin. Pies should be in a standard pie pan and need to have at least one crust. No savory pies and nothing that can't stand being out of the fridge for several hours, including meringue.

Some fun South Side Pie numbers: To date our event has raised more than $13,000 for the food pantry and soup kitchen. We’ve awarded 61 ribbons, judged 250 pies, and served more than 3000 pieces of pie to friends and neighbors!

We hope you join us again this year as we raise money for the Hyde Park/Kenwood Hunger Programs! Entry forms and details can be found at www.southsidepie.com.

Mark your calendars!

            Dust off your pie pans!

                        Preheat your ovens!

The 2017 South Side Pie Challenge will  be held on Saturday, November 4 at the Hyde Park Neighborhood Club.
