As part of our Friday Staged Reading Series, Hyde Park Community Players will present Act 1 of
Blues for Mr. Charlie, by James Baldwin
Nov. 3, 8 pm in Augustana Church Sanctuary, 5500 S Woodlawn; $5
Oroki Rice directs Baldwin's award-winning play, loosely based on the murder of Emmett Till. Baldwin turns a southern murder and its aftermath into an inquest in which even the most well-intentioned whites are implicated--and in which even a killer receives his share of compassion.

The performance is followed by homebaked treats and a moderated discussion.  You can use the church parking lot.

Hope you can come,
