Do Not Submit Englewood takes place at the the neighborhood's favorite coffee shop.  Arrive at 3:00 to sign up for a spot, and when your name is called, you will get 7 minutes on stage to tell any story you'd like. (Late arrivals can sign up as long as there are spots still available. The event ends at 5:30.)

o experience necessary to participate.
Food and drink will be available for purchase.

About Your Hosts

Stephanie Douglass is a performer, farmer, writer, and trainer. She tells stories and plays on stages all over Chicago, and is a Moth GrandSLAM Champion. She is a co-founder of  the New York theatre company The T.E.A.M, was the head writer for OLN's "Outside Magazine's Ultimate Top Ten," and is currently a staff writer for The Paper Machete. Last spring, she had the pleasure of co-producing The 25th Annual Chicago's Biggest Liar Contest. When not onstage, she serves as the Farm Enterprise Director at Growing Home, growing organic vegetables and training people with barriers to employment. She is also a co-founder of Cyahafi Blooms, where she develops sustainable programming for rural women and communities in southwestern Uganda.

Angel Simmons is a multitalented artist from Chicago’s south side. She is an author, speaker, runway model, storyteller, blogger at “Love’s Great Design”, president and CEO of The Message, Inc., and the current “Ms. Worldwide Illinois Ambassador” for the Live Out Loud Charity. Angel works with the one of the largest worship arts conferences in the country. She has been featured in books, a print magazine, a gospel cd, and as a guest on both radio and television. Angel is known for her crisp delivery of Spoken Word, and has been gracing the stage at “Do Not Submit: Englewood” since the show began.
