Garfield Park Art + Industry is a project of Chicago Arts and Industry. Learn more: http://bit.ly/2sHS6ia
The Garfield Park stables and powerhouse are being redesigned as a center for industrial arts production. While the buildings are in the early stages of renovation, this kickoff event will feature demonstration and display from local woodcraft artisans, designers, and sawyers. Guests can find out more about Garfield Park Art + Industry while trying out woodcrafting hand tools and building with guidance from skilled practitioners.
Staff from the Rebuild Foundation will also be on hand to discuss entry level job training opportunities available now in construction and landscaping.
The Garfield Park stables are adjacent to the Garfield Park Conservatory, at 300 Central Park Ave. The stables are located just north of the Conservatory building.
