Senior Fire Safety with Chicago Fire Department's Public Education Division

Wednesday, April 12
12–1pm Central

Meeting ID: 240191593
Passcode: Lunch

Knowing what to do in the event of a fire is particularly important for older adults. At age 65, people are twice as likely to be killed or injured by fires compared to the population at large. And with our numbers growing every year, it is essential to take the necessary steps to stay safe. Right here in Hyde Park, we have had two fires of recent — one in a high rise and one in a mid-rise apartment building.

This Senior Fire Safety discussion presented by a firefighter from the Chicago Fire Department's Public Education Division will include fire causes and risks, fire safety, staying safe, prevention tips, what to do in event of a fire in your residence. The Q&A will provide time to ask your burning questions as well.

Chicago Hyde Park Village's free Drop-In seminar series is held every 2nd Wednesday of the month. All are welcome! Invite a friend!

CHPV NEWS!

CHPV Announcement!

Pinned note with the word Announcement!
We are pleased to share the following name changes for CHPV's popular Drop-In events.

Our monthly Drop-In event customarily held via Zoom on the 2nd Wednesday of the month is now officially called the "Zoom Drop-In."

Our monthly Drop-In lunch event customarily held in-person at Augustana on the 4th Wednesday of the month is now officially called the "Lunch Gathering."
These changes come as a result of member feedback and internal discussions. It is our hope that this will better distinguish and describe what have become two very different, popular, recurring activities. Nothing else has changed with these popular programs. Just the names. For the near term, we will note "Lunch Gathering (formerly Drop-In)" on our event calendar. Please send any questions or comments to info@chpv.org.
