We couldn't be more proud of CHPV staff member and Hyde Park Refugee Project founder Dorothy Pytel for her efforts in service to our disenfranchised community members. Check out this great Hyde Park Herald feature about the good work of the Hyde Park Refugee Project.

| | | The holidays can be a difficult time of year for many. Please reach out if you need help. | The new 988 Lifeline Number is now live across the U.S.
The shorter phone number is easier to recall and faster to use. The Lifeline helps thousands of people overcome crisis situations every day. Here’s what to know about the new number and how it works:
Who can call 988?
Anyone in the U.S. can call 988. The Lifeline gives free and confidential support for people in distress. Loved ones of those in crisis can also use this tool.
What happens when you call 988?
- First, you’ll hear an automated message featuring other options while your call is sent to your local Lifeline network crisis center.
- Music will play while they connect you to a skilled, trained crisis worker.
- A trained crisis worker at your local center will answer the phone.
- This person will listen to you, understand how your problem is affecting you, provide support, and get you the help you need.
If you or someone you know is facing a mental health crisis or thinking about suicide, know there is hope. We are here for you.
